Wallace C. Kimbro

Wallace C. Kimbro, 83, of Du Quoin, passed away at 1:05 A.M., Friday, July 4, 2008 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

Wallace owned Art Craft Printing for 34 years.  He was a life member of the Elks and of the American Legion in Du Quoin.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict.

He was born October 19, 1924 at Du Quoin, IL, the son of Rob Roy Kimbro and Alma (Tate) Kimbro.

He married Elvera Elizabeth Durnell on November 18, 1950 at Folkston, Georgia and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, two sons - Bruce Kimbro and wife Deborah of Du Quoin and Brian Kimbro and wife Dianna, of Mulkeytown, one sister - Helen Sterling Kimbro, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister - Robilee French.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 7, 2008 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Mike Ebersohl officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 7 P.M., Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
